As an addition to the existing quality controls, NCA recently became a member of the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership. HAP is an international organization which certifies the work and work methods of humanitarian organizations.
Humanitarian organizations are accountable to their aid receivers, and as a member of HAP, Norwegian Church Aid commits to implementing the HAP principals of accountability. This means having a system for complaints, where aid receivers are able to make complaints, and also systems which supports this.
NCA will the coming year undergo a review process in order to get certified in compliance to the HAP Standard in Humanitarian Accountability and Quality Management, providing assurance to survivors, staff, volunteers, host authorities and donors that Norwegian Church Aid will deliver the best possible humanitarian service in each situation.
