Teachers Capacity Building Training by NCA Somalia

From May until July, NCA Somalia has been working to strenghten the capacity of teachers in the Gedo region, Jubaland State.

Teachers Capacity Building Training by NCA ​​

NCA Somalia has strategized its program to work jointly and collaborate with the government at local, state and federal levels. This is to ensure that the programme is aligned to government policies, strategies (such as the National Development Plan) and priorities, as well as establish and strengthen partnerships with the private sectors to supply WASH, Education and Economic Empowerment good and services.

NCA is implementing the project Building resilient School communities through basic Education in Gedo region, Jubaland State, Somalia – Belet-hawa, Dollow and Luuq Districts, in partnership with UNICEF Somalia, funded by KFW (German Development Bank).

With intent to have improved learning outcomes for early learning, basic education, and alternative basic education, over the school holiday (May-July 2021) NCA has trained a total of 151 teachers (Male- 127 and Female-24) on Inservice teacher training (Teaching pedagogy, PSS and learning outcome assessment).

In addition, 8 teachers (M-5, F-3) of the teachers were given training on ECD teaching standard and 34 teachers (M-22, F-12) were trained as Child-to-Child facilitators. The teachers received certificate of achievement.
