16 Days of Activism

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign in marked globally for the 24th year. Organizations, policymakers, governments, UN agencies and countless individuals worldwide are bringing attention to issues of racism, sexism, cultures of violence, homophobia and call for an end to gender-based violence and the implementation of human rights obligations. Norwegian Church Aid and partner organisations have planned activities from 25. November to 10. December.

Norwegian Church Aid in DRC with 8 partners working with GBV programme will run activities linked with the 2015 theme: From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World:
Make Education Safe for All!


16 days of Activism commemoration plan


Our national partners have organized and will be actively participating in the following national actions:

  1. Musical/concet festival for women’s life. Saturday 8 November
  2. Night vigil for the women victim of violence. 24 November
  3. Walking to denounce the violence against women. 25 November

Some partners are also organizing concrete actions in small villages and municipalities. Walking, forums and social campaigns will be done.

Open seminars in the towns Tromsø Nov 27th and Trondheim Dec. 3rd :

Overcome violence. Gender based violence and the role of religions. 
Speech by representatives from The Church of Norway, The Muslim Council of Norway, The UN council of Norway, Shelters for survivors of incest and violence as well as Norwegian Church Aid

Seminar for students at University collage in Oslo Dec. 9th:
On sexualized violence focusing on rape. Speeches by representatives from the collage, for organizations working on preventing rape, including an organization for including men in equal right works as well as Norwegian Church Aid
