In an emergency situation it is extremely important to react quickly and cooperate closely with other organisations to ensure the right aid is delivered to the right locations.
Norwegian Church Aid works closely with the following networks to ensure that a timely and appropriate response is delivered when disaster strikes.
Norwegian Church Aid cooperates with ACT Alliance. ACT comprises approximately 130 local and international member organisations, and can provide emergency relief, no matter where in the world a crisis may occur.
Norwegian Church Aid has entered into a global emergency preparedness agreement with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on call-outs to disaster areas where there is a need for efforts to ensure water supply, sanitation and hygiene. Norwegian Church Aid also has an agreement on secondment of personnel to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in particular in the area of water, sanitation and hygiene.
Norwegian Church Aid is responsible for the Water and Sanitation Service Package within the Norwegian Emergency Preparedness System (NOREPS). NOREPS is a cooperation between the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norwegian businesses and humanitarian organisations that deliver immediate support to emergencies throughout the world.
