Funding from international donors

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is proud to receive funding for its programs from a diverse range of international donors. At the beginning of 2025, NCA signed two significant five-year agreements with Norad: the Civil Society Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Agreement for humanitarian interventions, totaling 3.4 billion NOK.

In recent years, NCA has successfully diversified its funding portfolio, with 45% of its funding now coming from donors outside Norway [graphic needed from Clémence2023 income or figure to be updated based on Clemence input]. This positive shift in both turnover and funding diversification is attributed to the increased efforts across our country offices and headquarters in Oslo, working with donors and strategic partners alike.

Our key achievements in broadening our institutional donor portfolio include:

· Renewal of the ECHO humanitarian partnership certificate in 2021.

· Strong collaborations with several UN agencies, such as UNOCHA and UNICEF.

· Diversification of donors, including USAID, German donors (KFW, GIZ), Sida, Danida, and SDC.

NCA is also registered with the Norwegian Control Committee for Fundraising, ensuring transparency and accountability in our fundraising efforts.

NCA is CHS certified.

The Core Humanitarian Standard for Quality and Accountability (CHS) is a global benchmark for humanitarian organizations.

NCA is one of 200 organizations certified under the CHS Alliance, a status it has maintained since 2017. As part of the certification cycle, NCA underwent a maintenance audit in 2025, conducted by an independent third-party auditor from HQAI. The next full-scale audit is scheduled to take place in 2025-2026.
