The workshop involved both the theoretical as well as the practical aspects of digital data management.

The participants were exposed to both the MAGPI and Epicollect5 platforms as NCA Tanzania has already adopted Epicollect5 in the Economic Empowerment pilots and has already started rolling it to the partners.

The expectation of the training is to increase the capacity of both the partners and NCA staff to design surveys and to use them to monitor performance of the projects.

A huge thank you to Andrej and Martha Kristine from the head office who were responsible for the workshop.

Some of the workshop participants made the following comments about the workshop:

"Digitalization will be useful to collect, manage, and analyse data for management decisions and reporting. This will improve access to, accurate, reliable and updated information on a project’s performance."

- Gilbert Mworia, Gilbert Mworia, Programme Manager

"Although I have personally been using digital data collection tools in the pilot projects, I believe that this workshop opens up many opportunities for improving our data collection and reporting.

So far, it has been exciting for both NCA staff and the partners who are attending the workshop and if successfully implemented, it will help us to get quality and reliable data faster.

It will further increase transparency and accountability in documenting and reporting performance and results."

- Hermence Lulah, Program Officer Economic Empowerment

"At the beginning of the training we thought we would start embracing digital data collection by 2018, but after these few days, I think we are ready to start right away.¨

-Gwen Berge, Country Director NCA Tanzania
