Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (CR-WASH)

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene has a multiplier effect on achieving all development goals. Without access to safe water, proper sanitation, and hygiene practices, people cannot take the first step out of poverty.

The Climate-Resilient WASH programme focuses on improving the management of land and water resources to adapt to a changing climate. The construction of soil and water conservation structures, micro-basins, and reforestation efforts are some of the strategies Norwegian Church Aid uses to reduce the impact of climate risks such as drought, flooding, and pollution on drinking water availability and quality, and on the performance of sanitation and hygiene services.
