Our Approach

Norwegian Church Aid Ethiopia implements its programmes together with local partners, both faith-based and resource/value-based organisations, and in close cooperation with government structures. We build and maintain these relationships at the grassroots for continued impact.

In the current strategic period, Norwegian Church Aid Ethiopia emphasizes on the integration of its programmes in intervention areas. This means it implements two or more thematic program projects in the same or adjacent geographic location/s for better synergy and impact.

Integration is further underpinned in the application of three approaches: advocacy, development, and humanitarian programmes.

Norwegian Church Aid has been working with faith-based actors in Ethiopia since its inception. It will continue to build alliances with faith-based institutions in the country to deliver results through its holistic approach as a development, humanitarian and advocacy actor. This will be guided by its global framework for 2020-2030 of Faith in Action that aims to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and national strategies and plans in the country.

Norwegian Church Aid strives to be accountable to its rights-holders and stakeholders. It is certified to the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), a global alliance of humanitarian and development organizations.
