- This is a prize that recognizes that rape is an enormous problem in war and conflict, and a huge social problem in Eastern Congo and the rest of the world. This award should intensify the work against gender-based violence, says constituated general secretary in Norwegian Church Aid, Lisa Sivertsen.

Risking his life

Norwegian Church Aid has worked together with Dr. Denis Mukwge and supported his work since 1994. With help from forces in Norway, he has been able to build the Panzi Hospital and found the Panzi Fundation.
